FRIENDS WE SHOULD AVOID.

1. Unwise friends (The Gossip) - Prov. 20: 19.  "A Gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid a man who talks too much".

2. The Quick tempered ( Prov. 22: 24- 25) "Do not make friends with a hot tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered, or u may learn his ways and get urself ensnared".

3. The Disloyal and discontent. ( Prov 24: 21- 22) " Fear the Lord and the King, my son, and do not join with the rebellious, for those two will send sudden destruction upon them and who knows what calamities they can bring "

4. Self- indulgent ( Prov 28:7) "He who keeps the law is a discerning son, but a companion of gluttons disgraces his father".

5. The Immoral. (Prov 29: 3) " A man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father, but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth ".

We should avoid these set of persons because spending a large amount of time with someone literally causes you to pick up their habits. Choose your friends wisely.

HOW DO WE BUILD  WISE FRIENDSHIP.

* The principles of the scripture must govern our lives, the Bible says we should be the salt and light of the world. We can start by being the salt and light in the lives of our friends.

* Our goal should be to meet the needs of the other person rather than our own, we should try think of what is best for the other person.

* Be willing to risk rejection and pain.

* Love sacrificially.

* Be loyal, no matter what happens.

* Be committed to the spiritual growth of the other person.
       Is there anybody that can say their life has improved because they met you?
You can never be the friend God wants you to be untill Jesus is your friend. When the word of God governs your life you will be a better friend.
