WHAT CAN WORDS DO?

WHAT CAN WORDS DO?
Many a times, we murder and slaughter, not with sharp spear or double barreled guns but with the swords of our words. Can you pause and think about how many times you have gossiped or passed a negative remark about someone? How many times you have lashed out insults and rained shower of abuses over a fellow man?
John maxwell said that our words are either hammer or cushion that swats or give solace. Which is yours? Do people feel glad or sad after conversing with you? Our words can be a source of encouragement to people, give people hope, put smile on forlorn faces and make people believe in themselves. Even where it is unavoidable to criticize or chastise. Let it be done with love and sincere honesty such that the addressee sees why ''it" is being said, beyond what is being said. I would conclude with this short poem.
Words can make or mar,
They turn slaves to star,
Words seal.
Words chase pains afar,
They soothe blight-full scar,
Words heal.
Have you seen men spa
With words strong like bar?
Words kill.
So I ask, what would your words do today?
